At the European Training Academy we like to be inspired by our students. Already during the online tutorials, we have noticed that there are increasing requests for learning materials in the form of videos. The recordings of these online tutorials immediately became a highly sought-after item for self-study, so we decided to support our students with thematic video lectures across all disciplines.
We have a recording studio on campus and our lecturers take turns in front of the camera to cover a different topic on each video. The lectures are crafted to introduce and basically explain the key issue and further guide the audience to further study. Topics are presented in context and with reference to practice. Instructors may use a variety of instructional and illustrative devices on camera, and if a student still feels that they do not understand the topic being discussed, they can return to the video during the online tutorial. This learning system can fully replace face-to-face teaching and again, like our whole concept, brings its flexibility as a major benefit. You can simply watch the video anytime and anywhere.
What we consider further important is the fact that, thanks to the instructional videos, students can be more independent and less dependent on online deadlines or hands-on tutorials. These tutorials can thus serve their main purpose, which is to discuss the uncertainties that students come to while learning.
At the moment, our students have dozens of video lessons in all educational disciplines and more are being added as time goes on. The first reactions of the students are very positive. The videos started to be fully used on the first day and it is obvious that this form of learning material is important for students. However, we have enough topics and disciplines, so we are still continuing to record and will continuously upload more lectures to the school system. We believe that the video lectures that have been launched demonstrate the high standard of both our lecturers and the school.
