Programmer – the way for me? Can everyone handle this profession?

Programming seems to be literally a promised profession. We see it as a career security and high earnings. What does it take to pursue it?

Logic = foundation

The numbers are relentless. Statistics in 2022 reported that there is a shortage of around 14,000 IT professionals in the Czech Republic. The year 2023 has already increased these estimates to even 20,000 experts in the field. The number of jobs that cannot be filled in this sector has been rising for several years.

Which areas of IT are most in demand?

-Web applications, cloud, DevOps, security, artificial intelligence or data analytics.

-JavaScript, React, Node, etc.

-Salesforce, SAP and other specialized technologies

As a „scarce commodity“, programmers are more than generously paid. In 2013, according to CSO reports, the average salary was CZK 47,000. 7 years later, these workers have improved even more significantly – up to 62,000 CZK.

However, a skilled programmer can earn much higher amounts.

So what is the proverbial catch? Why can’t programming positions be filled efficiently?

It is a rather complicated field, which requires first of all perfect logical thinking. A programmer must also have patience.

You cannot become a good programmer overnight. A complete beginner should expect at least half a year of regular learning. Although it is not impossible that you can become a good programmer even as a self-taught one, a more appropriate approach is to choose an adequate course of study.

A programmer should not lack the desire to continuously educate himself. If a student lacks the internal discipline necessary to study, it can be deduced that he is not well suited to the profession.

Are you worried that you won’t have time to study and the hours spent in school on theory won’t give you much?

The European Training Academy offers practical training in the field of Programmer and IT Specialist (18-003-M, 18-009-N, 18-001-M). This will enable you to fulfil your wish to study a promising and interesting field with good grades.
