We have already covered the final exams at the European Academy several times. Let’s recall the most important points and outline the future that opens up for you after the exams.
The scenario is often very similar: an employee or freelancer has been working in the industry for many years but lacks an electro-education. He can very easily calculate how profitable it is if he himself becomes an electrician with a valid decree. This will take away the big worries of finding and paying guarantors and in turn open the door to bigger companies. Electricians are simply in short supply and are a valuable commodity. We are regularly approached by well-known companies who have new electricians trained in this way.
Such a student, coming from a practice, has a chance to get to the final exams at our Academy quite quickly. Theory can be studied in the evenings or at weekends, while practical skills are consolidated in a few hours of hands-on tutorials. He can thus soon realise that he is ready for the exam and can apply for it. Of course, this is not always the case. For complete novices, we recommend three years of study at our high school, and for those who are familiar with electricity but have insufficient experience, at least one year of intensive training.
Within one final examination, students take an examination of professional competence to perform activities in electrical engineering, an examination of knowledge of first aid with a focus on accidents caused by electric current and examinations of professional qualifications, which in aggregate form a complete professional qualification in the field of electrician. These five professional qualifications are as follows:
– 26-017-H (Electrical Installer),
– 26-019-H (Electrical switchboard installer),
– 26-018-H (Electrical Network Installer),
– 26-021-H (Lightning Arrester) and
– 26-020-H (Installer of low-current equipment).
For each area tested, students are given a set of test questions focusing on theory. They are then given practical tasks by the examiner where students wire and measure various electrical equipment. The practical part of the exam is assessed with a higher priority than the theory test. The materials and tools for all the work are prepared for the students at school, but we do not object if the student prefers his/her own, to which he/she is accustomed. Final testing, like the previous practical tutorials, is conducted in a safe, stress-free environment and the correctness of the assignment is assessed visually by the examiner.
After successfully passing all parts of the exam, graduates take away all the necessary certificates for the profession and for the trade license. Many of them stay with us, because as fresh electricians they can already apply for the course Photovoltaic Systems Installer or Electric Vehicle Charging Station Installer. Others leave to work abroad or go straight to the trade office. Of course, we offer our graduates the renewal of the NV194 certificate or an increase in the paragraph, free of charge.
