The bachelor’s or master’s thesis is a major milestone in your studies. Many students are apprehensive about it. What do you need to clarify before you start writing and how to deal with the thesis?
Both the bachelor’s and master’s thesis need to be done systematically
A bachelor’s or master’s thesis is a prerequisite for successful graduation at most Czech universities. However, some majors have an exception. In the field of medicine and veterinary medicine and hygiene, studies are duly completed with a state rigorosum examination.
It is essential to define the topic of the thesis correctly. The aim of the thesis will then depend on this. It pays to think about what the bachelor’s or master’s thesis will be about early on. You will also need to actively work with your chosen supervisor. He or she will be able to guide you in an appropriate way and will know when you have reached a dead end with your thesis.
There is also a difference in the concept of the two final papers. The diploma thesis is longer in scope and more professional. Since it concentrates in greater depth, you may already stumble somewhat at this stage with your choice of topic. In fact, some topics are more suitable for this type of work, while for a bachelor’s thesis it makes sense to choose a different focus.
Also do your research on the topic. Are there enough sources on it? You also need to clarify how you will get to them. It is best to head to the library available to you and take the relevant literature straight away. Once you have it available, start writing. It will be easier to create if you have something to fall back on.
It won’t work without diligence and initiative
Approach the drafting process in a timely manner. It doesn’t pay to leave your thesis and bachelor’s thesis to the last minute. Work out a timetable and try to stick to it at all costs. You may not always succeed, and you will definitely get more „stuck“ on some chapters, but keep up the writing pace.
Thus, in the course of writing the thesis and bachelor’s thesis, the student should demonstrate the ability to synthesize the acquired knowledge and work independently on a larger thesis. And it is this self-sufficiency that needs to be inculcated during the course of study.
At the European Academy of Education you will encounter a friendly environment that allows students to gain practical knowledge while co-determining the learning process. This autonomy leads to a higher level of student motivation and involvement.
